[Review] [Reaction] Kino's Journey: The Beautiful World eps. 1-3

The first video is the episode hosted on YouTube; if it's down due to some bogus copyright claim, hit the jump (i.e., click Read more below) and watch the second video instead.

Kino's Journey gets a remake for 2017. Carlos and Dave weigh in on its first three episodes and its True Neutral protagonist.

Kino's Journey: The Beautiful World, Kino no Tabi, Kino, Hermes, and all related characters and intellectual property belong to NBC Universal Entertainment, Funimation, Crunchyroll, and any other person or entity they belong to not explicitly named here. This video is a review and uses clips to illustrate our points; it is Fair Use by law and in practice in both Canada and the United States of America. Questions/concerns should be directed to tfgtg2@gmail.com with the subject line "Re: Kino's Journey reviews."

The following video is in WebM format. Why? Well, WebM videos render way smaller (like 70% to 90%, no joke) than MP4s and are still broadly compatible. Chrome and Firefox will play WebM videos; Safari and IE/Edge will not, nor will iPhones/iPads with ANY browser (blame Apple for that one). You can also download the video to play in VLC or some other media player. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

  1. According to Vrai Kino was always meant to be Non-Binary. You should read his AnimeFeminsit review of the first episode of this reboot. Vrai is very bothered that the translation use gendered Pronouns for Kino.

    1. I've been reading up on Kino's pronouns in the Japanese version, funny enough, and am going to talk about it at the beginning of the next Kino's Journey review.
